What are your photo guidelines for Photo ID Badges? print

Note: Consistency is the key to a professional Photo ID Program.
1. Choose the "medium" or "lower" quality option on your camera, as photo ID photos are printed so small that it usually is not necessary to use the highest resolution.
2. The resulting picture should have a minimum 300 dpi. A common resolution which is available on most cameras is 640 x 480 pixels.
3. Pose your subjects to take a full face view (head-on).
4. Lighting should be uniform and bright, without casting shadows. Natural light is best, but if not available, halogen or incandescent light works best. Fluorescent lighting should be avoided.
5. Background should be uniform and neutral ... white or off-white is best.
6. When taking pictures, try to maintain a constant distance from all subjects. A good camera distance from camera to subject is approximately 6 feet.
7. The camera should be placed at roughly the same height as the face of the subject.
8. Frame the picture to include the shoulders, and leave some room above the head. We will do the final cropping.
9. Note your original photo file settings: resolution, image size, image orientation, distance from camera, etc. Use these settings for subsequent orders.
10. Cameras create a file for each photo with the ".jpg" extension. Rename the .jpg file to the person's name and/or employee number.
11. Now, simply attach the .jpg file(s) to an eMail message and forward to your sales rep or sales@torstamp.com.
If you send us a great photo, we will return a great Photo ID.
